Vehicle thieves
Dhubri, Sept. 23:
Two car thieves, K.H. Biren Singh and Monoj Deka, were arrested today by Gouripur police of Dhubri district. They were arrested while crossing Gouripur in a stolen Maruti van.
Peddlers held
Dibrugarh:
Police on Tuesday arrested two drug peddlers, Raja Ali and Riyajul Ansari, from Kalibari in Dibrugarh.
Malaria
Kokrajhar:
A nine-month-old baby, Kanoj Basumatary, of Khargaon in Kokrajhar died of malaria at Kokrajhar’s Rupnath Braham Civil Hospital on Tuesday.

Dibrugarh:
The Borbaruah unit of the AASU on Tuesday staged a
dharna
at the project site office of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Unit, alleging that they were being deprived of jobs and contracts.

Dhubri:
Jogighopa police on Tuesday arrested one Saiyad Ali of Chalantapara in Bongaigaon for supplying documents to Bangladeshis to help them get Indian citizenship.
