Imphal, Sept. 22: Southern Sporting Union, Tiddim Road Unique Gamy Players Union (Trugpu) and North Imphal Sporting Association (Nisa) share the top slot with 21 points each after nine rounds in the 3rd Manipur State League, 2008.

Yesterday, Southern Sporting Union blanked United Sporting Association 4-0. The Tiddim team defeated Manipur Police Sports Club 2-0 and Nisa crushed Tiddim Road Athletic Union 4-0 to share the top slot. All Moirang Football Association edged past Youth Welfare Club 3-2 and North Eastern Re-Organising and Cultural Association defeated New Lamka Youth Club.

Sangita Devi football: Youth Development Organisation scored a 2-0 win against Young Physique Union in the 15th L. Sangita Devi Imphal First Division Football League Tournament played at Lilong Chajing ground today, says our sports correspondent.

Youth Development Organisation clicked early in the first half, with two fine goals from L. Gogocha Singh and N. Olenkumar Singh. Young Physique Union tried to fight back in the second half, but failed to score.

Young Physique Union not only lost the match but lost a key player, S. Somorjit Singh, who earned a red card from referee Sh. Suresh today.

In another match, Thangmeiband Athletic Union tamed Chingamathak Young Learners Club 2-0. Rhulthou scored the first goal in the 28th minute, trailed by Roshan Singh in the 32nd minute.
