New Delhi: East Bengal footballer Saikat Saha Roy has been suspended for six months by the disciplinary committee of the AIFF for his misbehaviour during the 5th Junior (U-19) football tournament in Jamshedpur.

The committee, after going through the match commissioner’s report, met on Friday to look into the incident, which took place during their match against Mohun Bagan SAIL Academy.

Besides suspension, the committee also imposed a penalty of Rs 5000 on Saikat .

The committee decided to direct East Bengal to replace the furniture broken by their players in the technical area during the incident. (PTI)
