BigAdda has launched its mobile version called MobileAdda, in an attempt to reach out to more people, especially since the number of mobile users today exceeds the penetration of PC-users in India.

“Very few people have jobs that require them to be online all the time. There are many dead profiles — profiles that people make but don’t use enough to keep them activated. With mobile social networking, this will change. The penetration limit will increase and new social graphs will emerge,” explains Nikhil Soman, chief technology officer, BigAdda.

With this initiative, the website’s members will be able to stay in touch with other members through SMS, WAP, and a Mobile Application, apart from the full-fledged website.

However, the limitations of operating the social networking WAP site on a mobile screen include no videos because of less bandwidth. At the other end, there are a few advantages of mobile networking over the PC like photo scribbling. A user can take a photo, upload it instantaneously and scribble comments.
