Pakistan has gone ahead of India! Surprised, are you? Has this columnist lost his marbles? Or got carried away? Neither. On my fourth trip to Lahore in recent months, I saw for myself that, indeed, Pakistan had gone ahead! Now, before the editor terminates my contract let me reveal the truth of the matter. In summer, Pakistan sets its clocks forward by one hour for daylight saving. As a result, Indian Standard Time (IST) which is usually 30 minutes ahead, ends up being half-an-hour behind. Puzzle solved.
