Sivasagar, Sept. 1:
The Sivasagar district committee of All Tai Ahom Students’ Union today staged a road blockade demanding improvement of the Dhodar Ali Road, which connects Golaghat and Dibrugarh districts.

Dhubri:
The Dhubri branch of United Bank of India started core-banking facility from Monday. Narayan Chandra Baruah, principal of Bhola Nath College, inaugurated the facility in the presence of the senior manager of UBI, Jatin Thakuria and others.

The Dimasa Students’ Union and Dimasa Women’s Association have called a 12-hour NC Hills bandh on Tuesday demanding expulsion of Bangladeshis.

Dhubri:
Responding to a writ petition filed by the Chagolia Truck Owners’ Society against extortion and exorbitant collection of toll at Beer Chilarai bridge, Gauhati High Court in its interim order has directed the lessee to collect the toll as specified in the lessee order till the final verdict.
