Feluda goes balle balle
Sabyasachi does a dance number for lakshyabhed. Picture by Aranya Sen

It’s most unlike Feluda but it’s him after all: We caught the serious-and-cerebral Sabyasachi Chakraborty at Eden Gardens grooving to a Holi song with great gusto, sporting a salt-and-pepper pony tail.

The song-and-dance was for Raj Mukherjee’s Lakshyabhed, also starring Swastika Mukherjee, Rachana Banerjee and Tapas Pal.

“Yes, I am dancing but I don’t know why because it doesn’t go with the character I am portraying in the film. I play an ashram-owner who trains his pupils in yoga and kung fu. But my director insisted that people would love to see Sabyasachi dance and there would be no end to ceetis and taalis. Let’s hope I don’t disappoint my audience,” explained the actor.

This isn’t the first time though that Feluda is shaking a leg in films. “I have done it many times before. I have danced in Raktobandhan, Tomar Rakte Amar Sohag and many more films. As an actor I do all kinds of films. Just because I do Feluda films doesn’t mean I cannot do other films. Besides, I have danced in plays on stage too,” adds the athletic actor.

“My choreographer always gives me easy steps. And there are several takes and retakes. Plus, I am not a very bad dancer,” Sabyasachi admits with a smile.
