Waging war on corruption

Ranchi, Aug. 31: The Jharkhand Nav Nirman Mahasabha, an organisation demanding greater Jharkhand comprising parts of Bengal, Orissa and Chhattisgarh, today decided to knock the door of judicial forum to fight against corruption in the state.

The decision was taken at its meeting held at the Assembly auditorium.

Former Ranchi University vice-chancellor Ram Dayal Munda, political leader B.P. Kesri, former parliamentarian N.E. Horo, former legislator Suraj Singh Besra and Bengal legislator Jhunu Hansda participated at the meeting.

Rakesh Srivastava, who conducted the meeting, said that the participants were of the opinion to start a fight against corruption in the court before knocking the door of people in the next election. “The participants, who noticed a huge increase in the assets of state ministers, were unanimously decided to take help of public interest litigation to expose corrupt ministers.

“They also decided to build confidence of people from Jharkhand who are in the stage of confusion after witnessing the corrupt practices of UPA and NDA governments,” Srivastava said.

Srivastava said that the association would again sit on September 19 at the residence of Ram Dayal Munda to chalk out a strategy to start a struggle for greater Jharkhand.

For several political parties, including the JMM and others, in the state, greater Jharkhand has been a demand for several years, but no action was taken yet regarding the matter.
