Special traffic call

Ranchi, Aug. 26: Barring a handful, most of the traffic policemen in the city would be deployed in and around the Morabadi grounds, as part of the special arrangement for tomorrow’s oath-taking ceremony of the JMM chief Shibu Soren.

With the district administration expecting a heavy turnout of JMM cadre from all over the state to witness the function, entry of all heavy vehicles into the vicinity of Morabadi grounds would be banned from 11am.

Special parking arrangements have been made at Tribal Research Institute, Karamtoli Chowk, Sidho Kanho Park and Ranchi College for those seeking entry into the Morabadi ground.

No vehicles without proper identification stickers would be allowed into the main area inside Morabadi grounds.

Vehicle would not be allowed to enter Radium Road, Bariatu Road from Governor’s House, Ram Mandir on Kanke Road and from Karamtoli Chowk to Jharkhand Tribal Research Institute.

Along with those carrying supporters of political parties and candidates, all other heavy vehicles coming in from Jamshedpur would be stopped at Kantatoli. Those coming in from Khunti and Chaibassa would be stopped at Birsa Chowk and at Harmu, while those coming from Gumla, Lohardaga and Daltonganj would be stopped at the ITI Bus terminus.

Busses would also be stopped at Karamtoli, Jharkhand Tribal Research Institute, Ratu Road and at Sidho Kanho Park.

“We are expecting a large turnout tomorrow. Though the oath-taking ceremony has been scheduled at 3.30pm, the special arrangements would be put in place four-and-a-half hours in advance,” explained the Ranchi traffic SP, Dadanji Sharma.
