Health tips at SAIL camp

Jamshedpur, Aug. 22: Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan today formally inaugurated the two-day mega health camp at Adityapur organised by Steel Authority of India (SAIL) as part of their corporate social responsibility.

A similar health camp was inaugurated by the minister at Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi School, Mango today.

While talking with the people Paswan told them about the newly launched Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana, a health insurance scheme for BPL families.

“This is a scheme floa- ted by the Centre, which aims at providing medical facility to all the poor people. The downtrodden would from across the country would benefit from this scheme,” said Paswan.

Providing details of the scheme, the minister explained that the scheme aims at providing financial assistance to meet hospital expenses and surgical procedures of beneficiary members upto Rs 30,000 per family per year. The benefit to the family would be given on floater basis that is the total reimbursement of Rs 30,000, which could be availed of individually or collectively by members of the family, he added.

The patients suffering from serious diseases would be referred to the government or SAIL hospital for further treatment, added the Union minister.

He, however, chided the state government for its failure to implement the health insurance scheme.

“Poor families in other states across the country have been drawing the benefit of the scheme. But the Jharkhand government has not yet implemented it that was launched last year,” said the minister.

The services of contract labourers — working with various public sector unions including the steel company for last four years or more — would be regularised soon, he assured.
