Funnyman goes funky

Dark glasses, gelled hair flopping on his forehead, a cool pendant, bright hand gloves, hooded jacket teamed with cool denims — funnyman Kanchan Mullick is a cool dude in Bor Ashbe Ekhuni. “This is the first time I am looking like a bhadralok!” quips Kanchan.

In Bor Ashbe Ekhuni, he plays Jisshu’s childhood friend Kanchan. While Jisshu’s Abhi is a software engineer, Kanchan’s Kanchan is a cameraman and works in serials.

“Kanchan loves and trusts Abhi a lot. He also knows about Abhi’s feelings for Mitil and offers all kinds of help to take the relationship further,” reveals Kanchan, who is paired opposite television actress Mallika Majumdar in the film.

But the lovebirds are at loggerheads. “Mallika is Mitil’s friend and she feels that Mitil is always right. I support Abhi and so when we meet at the lakeside for some coochie-cooing, we end up quarrelling!” laughs Kanchan.

Playing Jisshu’s friend apart, Kanchan is all excited about his look in the title song Dol dol doluni bor ashbe ekhuni. “I have never sported such an urban chic look in any of my earlier films. Mumbai-based choreographer Stanley D’Costa has designed my look. Stanley is a very intelligent guy and he wanted to match my look with Jisshu’s. It’s a very modern look and goes well with the story of the film, which is a modern-day comedy,” rounds off Kanchan.
