Imphal, Aug. 18: SAI RC defeated South Imphal Cultural Organisation 2-1 in the 15th L. Sangita Devi Memorial First Division Football League Tournament at Lilong Chajing in Imphal East today.

L. Anand Singh of SAI RC scored the first goal in the 7th minute.

However, the South Imphal team lost no time in restoring parity, as M. Dipak Singh scored from the right penalty side.

The SAI RC boys increased their pace and were handsomely rewarded in the 28th minute when N. Chandramani Singh netted home the winner.

The referee booked SAI RC player Y. Lasker, A. Ronaldo and South Imphal Cultural Organisation players K. Roshan, O. Tinku and N. Rojit Singh with a yellow card.

In another match, Young Physique Union defeated Peace Humanity Labour and Youth Organisation 2-0.

The match-winning goals for the Young Physique team came from K. Suraj Singh and K. Manikanta Singh.

Kh. Rojit Singh of Peace Humanity was booked with a yellow card for rough tackle.

Anouba Imagi Mangal, Khabam, defeated Youth Organisation Sporting Club 2-0 in the opening match of the Maharaj Ghanendrajit Super Division Football League at Khurai Konsam Leikai in Imphal East today.

Six teams are participating in the meet, organised by the Imphal East District Football Association. Both goals for Anouba Imagi Mangal came in the second half from Herojit Singh and Kh. Bopinchand Singh. The team earned three points from the win.
