TCS techies learn to trek

Jamshedpur, Aug. 17: The three-day outdoor development programme of Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) executives of Calcutta concluded on Sunday.

Around 35 executives were part of the programme, organised from August 15 to 17 at Tumlung village, 30km from the steel city.

The activities, which were arranged for the programme, tested the managerial skills of the enthusiasts.

“This is first time such a big team from TCS took part in the outdoor programme. The programme is designed in such a way to suit the acumen of these people,” said team leader Deepak Bhadra of TCS, Calcutta.

Participants took part in rope, ladder, rock climbing, trekking, rafting and treasure hunt.

“We are part of Tata Steel and know the requirements of a corporate house. Many institutes and organisations have already benefited from this programme,” said P.P. Kapadia, the secretary of TSAF.

“The activities helped us in getting rid of our fears. I am afraid of height but I could overcome it with the help of the rock climbing exercise,” said a participant.

The participants also enjoyed the camp at Dimna lake on the last day of the programme. “It was the best part of the trip and we enjoyed it a lot. Given a chance, all the participants are willing to come back again for similar programme and camp at Dimna,” added Bhadra.
