Alipurduar, Aug. 14: A four-member team from North Bengal University visited Alipurduar College today to find out the problems besetting the institution.
The delegation was led by Subroto Sanyal, the inspector of colleges, NBU. The rest of the team comprised members of the university’s executive council. In the wake of a clash in the college on July 30, the vice-chancellor, Arunava Basumajumdar, had declared on August 4 that he would send a team to the institution.
The members visited classrooms and checked their condition. They also went through attendance registrars to find out how many students come to classes on an average and their numbers in general and honours courses.
Sanyal and his team also went to the teachers’ room where Chhatra Parishad supporters had gone on the rampage during the recent clash. They also asked the teachers about the problems they face.
Before leaving, Sanyal said the team would compile a report and submit it to the VC. The team will again visit the college after three months.
