Nagaon, Aug. 14: A homeguard committed suicide after killing his two children in Diphu town on Wednesday. Police said the homeguard, Mintu Das, spiked his beer with poison and forced his six-year-old daughter Rumi and two-year-old son Romon to drink it before consuming the rest. All three died at Diphu Civil Hospital.

The incident happened in presence of his newly-married second wife. His first wife Gita committed suicide last year. Mintu had remarried last month ago.
