The boy who got the babe
Claudia Ciesla

Arin Paul is just another guy. Correction, Arin Paul was just another guy. Now, he’s the guy who’ll be telling German hotbod Claudia Ciesla exactly what to do for him for a full month in Calcutta!

Arin, 28, graduated from Shyamaprasad Mukherjee College, did a diploma in journalism and then a course in film direction at the Asian Academy of Film and Television in Delhi.

He started out by assisting the likes of Anjan Dutt, Tathagata Banerjee and Anindo Ghosh on their telefilms, mega serial maker Anindo Banerjee and actor Parambrata Chatterjee on his telefilm.

He then made three short films — And There Wasn’t Ever After, Terrorist and Bhindeshi Tara — before embarking on his directorial debut with a comedy called Shabdhan Pancha Ashchhe starring Rudranil, June and Subrat Dutta.

And as soon as shooting gets over for Shabdhan Pancha Ashchhe, Arin starts a new adventure — his next film 10:10. The star cast? Soumitra Chatterjee as an underworld don, Aparajita Ghosh Das as a struggling actress, Subrat Dutta as a junior artiste and German supermodel Claudia Ciesla as a foreign journalist on assignment in Calcutta.

So how did the boy from Belur get the babe from Munich? “Basically I was looking for a foreigner to play the journalist’s role. We were all discussing that when my producer, Sumit Dutta of Neelkanth Productions, suggested Claudia’s name. Sumitda had seen Claudia in her debut film M.R. Shahjahan’s Karma: Crime, Passion and Reincarnation and liked her work. We then got in touch with Shahjahan and through him with Claudia. We had sent her the script through e-mail and she agreed. Claudia has not only agreed to act in the film but she will also do the playback for a song!”

And what does the babe with a 10/10 body do to the budget of his film? For once, Arin is tight-lipped. “I can’t reveal that. Please call my producers.” We did and Sumit Dutta of Neelkanth Production said that the budget had not been “fixed” yet. Hmmmmm...
