Eleven people were injured in two accidents in the city on Sunday.

Five passengers were injured when the taxi they were in hit by a truck bound for Ultadanga near Lake Town around 5.30am. Two of the passengers were admitted to RG Kar Hospital and were in a serious condition. Both drivers fled.

The other accident occurred when a bus plying on route 78/1 hit a rickshaw on BT Road around 11.30am, injuring the rickshaw-puller.

The bus then hit a car with three passengers before speeding off. Two pedestrians were injured in the mishap.

The bus was racing another private bus, said an officer of Khardah police station. The injured were taken to Panihati hospital.
