Dhubri, Aug. 7:
Dhubri deputy commissioner Jatindra Lahkar on Thursday ordered an inquiry into the alleged misappropriation of Rs 3.99 crore released by the government for sanitation at Anganwadi centres and schools.
Foundation
Dibrugarh:
Parliamentary secretary and Moran MLA Jibantara Ghatowar on Thursday laid the foundation stone for a Rs 4.68 crore project to develop a 2km stretch of the existing NH-37 in Moran town.

Police on Thursday recovered the body of a person from a pond from the Madhokoli area in Dibrugarh district.

Karimganj:
Abul Laskar, 19, was killed and 17 others injured at Nilambazar township in Karimganj district on Wednesday when a mini-bus in which they travelling turned turtle and fell into a ditch.
Workers held
Silchar:
Police on Wednesday arrested five labourers and seized 5,000 bags of adulterated cement from an unlicensed cement manufacturing unit at Srikona near Silchar town.
