Imphal, Aug. 7: Manipur Cricket Association is working at top speed to complete the five pitches it is preparing to host two under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy cricket tournament matches scheduled for November.

Of the three pitches being laid at Luwangpokpa Sports Complex, two are for Test matches, while two pitches are being laid at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

Both the wickets here are specially being made for holding Test matches.

BCCI East Zone chief curator Robin Mukherjee and Tripura Cricket Association’s BCCI curator Ashish Kumar Bhowmik reached here this evening to oversee the completion of the final layers and planting of Bermuda grass.
