Train robbery

An eight-member gang of criminals looted Rs 12,000 and two mobile phones from passengers of the Lumding-Alipurduar train at Agyathuri on Monday. They had boarded the train at Kamakhya station. The victims lodged a complaint with the Government Railway Police at Rangia.

Course

Cotton College will launch BSc biotechnology course during a function at the college conference hall on Wednesday. Gauhati University vice-chancellor Okhil Kumar Medhi will inaugurate the course.

Flautist ill

Renowned flautist Prabhat Sarma was admitted to the ICU at GNRC Hospitals on Tuesday after a cardiac arrest. A hospital spokesperson said his condition was critical.
