Colombo, Aug. 1: The Bangladesh foreign secretary, Touhid Hossain, today said elections will be held in his country from December 21 to 24.

Hossain also gave India good news on the terror front by saying that both countries have “shared” intelligence on cracking down on terror outfits.

He told reporters on the sidelines of the Saarc summit here that more than eight crore bio-metric identity cards have been issued for the polls in the past eight months.

Bangladesh sources here also said that they were in the process of cracking down on the networks of the Harkat-ul-Jehad-i-Islami .
