It’s a colour rush as soon as you enter lifestyle store Hugli. Red evokes fiery passion, blue spells calm, green gives you mixed feelings. Hugli is hosting an exhibition and the store has got a mini makeover that will last till August 4.

Lots of objects in rainbow hues displayed in separate corners add to the vibrant ambience of the store. From witty fridge magnets to cat-shaped name holders to curtains, there is something for every home.

The Fun Corner comprises cushions, including some filmi ones with Salman Khan and Shatrughan Sinha. There are zodiac sign mugs with wacky comments, shot glasses, cool coasters, photo-frames, ashtrays and staplers. Also check out the “man collection”. It’s a trendy range of functional showpieces featuring white metal men. The Maharaja Collection is all tan and auburn with faces of Maharajas on them, embellished with sequins to match the royalty’s ornaments.

Then there is a glass range of flower vases and crockery sets and bowls. Propreitor Madhulika Khaitan intends to fulfil her dream of creating a Calcutta Corner soon. “This special nook will comprise artefacts which are truly Calcuttan,” she reveals.

Prices at the Fun Corner are “easy on the pocket” and begin at Rs 70. Hugli is in Hastings Court, 96 Garden Reach Road.
