An eye on her CV

Adding value to her CV is Monami Ghosh’s latest mantra. So the petite actress has said no to a mega serial and even a film!

“I didn’t like the character I was offered in the film and I wasn’t satisfied with the role in the mega serial, which is already on air. I want to do only one mega at a time and I must be in it from the start,” she explains.

Of the two projects that have caught Monami’s eye, one is a short film with Rajatava Dutta slated for a screening at the New York Short Film Festival in August. Monami plays a visually challenged girl in this eight-minute short titled Ek Chhoti Si Mulakat, steered by Anindo Pal.

“In Ek Chhoti Si... Rajatava is in his car and I am on a bus. We meet at a traffic signal and Rajatava can’t take his eyes off me. Then we go our own ways. There are no dialogues between us, but there’s some in Hindi in the background,” says Monami.

The other is the telefilm, Aparichito Apanjan, starring Babul Supriyo which was shot in Mumbai by Mumbai-based director Sunanda Ghosh.

“It’s a very interesting story about a girl and a boy who come to Mumbai for work. They meet and fall in love. We shot for three days on Mud Island and I ended up working till 3am everyday!” says Monami.
