Cultural contests

The 6th Cultural Gala 2008 of the Post-Graduate Students Union, Kohima campus, at the Ura Academy Hall in Kohima. The event will be held under the theme Towards Cultural Rejuvenation. Various cultural competitions like recitation, essay writing, debate, elocution and quiz for school and college students is under way at Ramakrishna Mission in Shillong. It will conclude on August 2.

Awareness

Eye screening and awareness camp at Shillong college conference hall on Saturday at 9.30am.

Exhibitions

A three-day state-level science exhibition, organised by the directorate of higher and technical education on Science and Technology and Planet Earth from Tuesday at Asom Kristi Kendra hall, Dhankheti. An exhibition organised by Anthropological Survey of India on Human Origins, Genome and People of India under way at State Central Library in Shillong. It will conclude on Monday.

Seminars

A seminar on the Present Scenario of Medicinal Plants in Manipur, organised by Manipur University Research Club to conclude in Imphal. A UGC-sponsored national seminar on Frontier Areas of Research in Geology of Northeast India is being organised by the department of applied geology of Dibrugarh University on November 11 and 12, 2008.
