Calcutta, July 24: A Class XI student who was allegedly raped by her mother’s lover in Howrah has alleged that police have told her to shut up.

Balaka Ghosh and three others allegedly abducted and raped her on Monday evening.

The victim, a resident of Keshabpur-Shibtala in Domjur, today said an officer of Domjur police station told her not to make too much noise on the matter. “He (the officer) also rebuked me after I narrated the events leading to the rape,” the girl said.

Niraj Kumar Singh, the Howrah SP said: “I will probe the role of the police.”
