Flights withdrawn
IndiGo has withdrawn flights from Calcutta to Bhubaneswar and Nagpur till September 30. The decision was part of a revision in the summer schedule of the airline.
Power supply
Power supply may be affected in Mahestala, Raipur, Moynagarh, Asuti, Banerjeehat , Gangarampur, Chatakalikapur, Oxytown, Shibrampur, Sukdebpur and Ganipur areas between 10am and 5pm on Saturday because of maintenance work. The supply may be disrupted in Bantala and Basanti between 9am and 5pm on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday.
Bail denied
The high court on Friday refused to grant anticipatory bail to Anand Agarwal, a city-based transporter apprehending arrest in connection with a case lodged against him by his wife under section 498A (cruelty on housewives by their husbands and in-laws) in March this year.
Special train
Eastern Railway will run special trains for Shravani Mela at Baidyanathdham. A special super-fast train to Chennai will leave Howrah on July 20 at 4.10pm.
Suicide
Alisa Biswas, in her mid-70s, committed suicide by jumping off the second-floor balcony of a relatives house in Beniapukur on Thursday night.
Bullet wound
Uttam Jana, 39, was admitted to Medical College and Hospital with a bullet wound in his abdomen on Friday.
