Level A camp gets underway

Calcutta: The six-day BCCI Level-A coaching camp started with 32 participants, including 23 Ranji cricketers, at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday.

The NCA coaching faculty includes Dinesh Nanavati (batting), Bharat Arun (bowling), Dr Kinjal Suratwala (sports medicine) and Satrajit Lahiri (wicket-keeping and fielding). Chief of the faculty, Dav Whatmore, the NCA director of operations, will join the camp on Saturday.

Meanwhile it is learnt former assistant secretary Biswarup Dey will contest for one of the joint-secretaries’ post from the Jagmohan Dalmiya-led faction. The other candidate for the might be a toss-up between three candidates — Arun Mitra, Naresh Ojha and Prabir Chakrabarty. Bablu Ganguly is the likely opposition candidature for the post of treasurer.
