Aviation panel on way

New Delhi, July 9: The government today decided to set up a high powered panel to examine the difficulties being faced by airlines because of surging fuel costs. The panel will also recommend measures. The decision came days after Indian aviation industry leaders, led by civil aviation minister Praful Patel, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss various aspects of the crisis.

New Delhi, July 9: The finance ministry has called a meeting tomorrow with the representatives of the petro-chemical industry to discuss the rising prices of these products, especially polymer.

SEZ meet off

New Delhi, July 9: A meeting of the empowered group of ministers on SEZs , scheduled for tomorrow, has been put off following the withdrawal of support to the government by the Left.

IT exports

New Delhi, July 9: Software and services export growth have fallen in 2007-08. It grew by a lower 29 per cent whilerevenues touched $40.40 billion, up from $31.40 billion in the previous year.

Dumping tabs

New Delhi, July 9: India imposed the maximum measures and ordered the highest number of probes into dumping of goods from different countries including China during July 1 to December 31, 2007, a World Trade Organization (WTO) report said.
