PM, Raja talk 3G

New Delhi, July 4: Telecom minister A. Raja today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and briefed him on the proposed policy on third generation (3G) mobile services and WiMax. The policy is likely to be announced next week. Sources said Raja apprised the Prime Minister of the 3G spectrum auction process and the modalities associated with it.

PAN rule

Mumbai, July 4: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) today clarified central and state government employees would have to quote permanent account numbers (PAN) for all stock market transactions undertaken by them in personal capacity.

ONGC Videsh

Sydney, July 4: BHP Billiton Ltd said China’s Baosteel, negotiating on behalf of the Chinese steel industry, agreed to price hikes of up to 96.5 per cent for ore supply.
