Nilanjan to meet Sayar in final

Nilanjan Sarkar will meet Sayar Bose in the finals of the CLT Table Tennis Championship on Tuesday. Nilanjan beat Senaritra Chowdhury 11-8, 11-8, 11-6 while Sayar edged out Aritra Bhattacharjee 11-8, 11-9, 11-7 in the semi-finals on Monday.

Table tennis

Joyeeta Pushilal beat Sramana Dutta 4-2 while Agamani Mitra defeated Kajal Das 4-2 in the youth girls semi-finals of the 39th Open Muslim Institute Table Tennis tournament on Monday. In the youth boys’ semi-finals, Anirban Sinha Roy blanked Arkobrata Kundu 4-0 and Shiladitya Nag outsmarted Ankur Basak 4-0 to reach the final to be held on Tuesday.

Bagan letter

Mohun Bagan on Monday have sent a letter to the PWD minister requesting to undertake the renovation of the floodlights at the ground. The Bagan executive committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday to decide this year’s Mohun Bagan Ratna.

Prasun stays

Prasun Mukherjee was re-elected as the president of the West Bengal Athletic Association on Monday. Kamal Kumar Maitra was also re-elected secretary.
