Restricting India the key, says Malik

Karachi: High on confidence after beating India in the tri-series final in Bangladesh, Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik said the key to their success in the Asia Cup clash on Thursday would be to restrict the strong Indian batting line-up.

“We are confident of securing a victory which will carry us through to the final. The key is to restrict the Indian batsmen from scoring big,” Malik said on Tuesday after the win against Bangladesh.

“India are the best team in the tournament so if we beat them it would increase our chances of winning the trophy,” he added. Malik, however, warned his teammates against complacency .

“(Mahendra Singh) Dhoni is a shrewd captain… He has pointed out that every match is a new day in cricket. You can’t look back all the time.”
