Dias signs for EB

In an apparent breach of their three-year contract with Mahindra United, India’s star attacking midfielders Steven Dias and N.P. Pradeep have made themselves available for East Bengal. While Dias signed up for the club on Friday, Pradeep will complete the formalities on Saturday morning, a club official said.

The club official claimed that though were contracted with the Mumbai club, the duo could still sign with their club. The AIFF said they had received a complaint from the Mumbai club in this regard.

Kalighat win

Kalighat beat Salkia 4-0 in a Trades Cup match on Friday. Ashish Halder scored a hattrick while Sukuruddin Laskar scored the other goal.

Anirban in final

Anirban Sinha Roy and Arnab Bose reached the final of the junior boys singles in the North Kolkata District Table Tennis Championship on Friday. In the women’s singles, Anindita Chakraborty, Pallabi Kundu, Sumana Bose and Saptaparni Guha reached the semi-finals.

The Bata-Kalyan Jayant Memorial Table Tennis tournament, jointly organised by Bata Sports Club and Bengal Table Tennis Association, will be held at Khudiram Anusilan Kendra from June 23-27. The meet will consist of 10 events.
