Sivasagar, June 17:
The Charaideo district committee of the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad today staged a dharna in front of the office of Charaideo sub-divisional officer (civil) for allegedly harassing students in the name of issuing Permanent Resident Certificates (PRC) to them.
Death
Sichar:
A 22-year-old college student, Rohan Uddin Barbhuyan, died on the spot after being struck by lightning at Matijuri village near Hailakandi on Monday evening.
Arrest
Sivasagar:
Sulfa Tilok Gogoi alias Montu was arrested by the police at Sapekhati on Tuesday following allegations that he had tortured a woman a few days ago.
