Two found hanging

A 14-year-old girl, Sangita Dey, was found hanging at her Birubari residence on Sunday. No suicide note was found. Police have registered an unnatural death case at Birubari police outpost and sent the body for an autopsy. n another incident, the body of an unidentified man was found hanging from a tree near Fatasil Ambari Tinali on Sunday. An unnatural death case was registered at Fatasil Ambari police station.

Man arrested

The GRP arrested 25-year-old Manik Ram Satnami from platform seven of Guwahati railway station on Saturday and recovered a handmade revolver from him. Police said the accused, who is from Howraghat in Karbi Anglong, is suspected to be a robber.

Lecture

The medical director of Prathama Blood Center, Ahmedabad, Nabajyoti Choudhury, delivered a lecture on The Rational Use of Blood at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital on Saturday on the occasion of World Blood Donors’ Day.

Demand

The Guwahati Mahanagar Samiti of the AGP has demanded the withdrawal of Dispur’s decision to close Station Road in the name of beautification of Judges Field and Nehru Park.
