Diamond jubilee
The Gauhati High Court Bar Association will celebrate its diamond jubilee by organising various events on Friday and Saturday. Senior advocate of the Supreme Court, Anil B. Divan, will deliver a lecture on Friday. Cultural functions will be held on both days.
Scholarships
The city-based NEF Law College has offered full scholarships to the 7th and 10th rank holders of the higher secondary final examination 2008 — Hemanga Barman and Manashi Saikia — to study BA, LLB (Honours) course at the college.
Tribute
The Guwahati Sabita Sabha recently organised a public meeting to pay tribute to eminent scholars K.K. Handique and Sahityacharyya Atul Chandra Hazarika.
Lecture
Filmmaker Jahnu Barua will deliver a lecture at Pragjyoti ITA cultural centre at Machkhowa on June 16 on the need to introduce a course in film appreciation at every institution. K.C. Das Commerce College will organise the event.
Debate
The J.B. Law College Students’ Union will organise an N-E inter college debate on June 17.
