Imphal, June 10: M. Sayalaxmi Devi of Meitei Ipa Ipu Salai Inat Khongul Liba Lup today fetched the fourth gold for her team in the sub-junior girls’ foil event for the Soriasam Ronika Devi Running Trophy for sub-junior boys and girls in the 4th Governor's Cup State-Level Fencing Championship held at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium here.

In the final of the sub-junior girls' foil event, Sayalaxmi Devi played with an aggressive style to defeat Kh. Bandana Devi of SAI RC for the gold.

The two losing semi-finalists A. Kangleinganbi Devi of SAI RC and H. Leirenbi Devi of Rising Sub Club got a bronze medal each.

In the Manaobi Laishram Memorial Running Trophy for cadet boys’ and girls’ epee event, R.K. Rebika Devi of SAI RC won the gold while Kh. Bandana Devi bagged the silver. M. Sushila Devi of Oriental Levellers Association and I. Anuradha Devi of Meitei Ipa Ipu Salai Inat Khongul Liba Lup won the bronze.

H. Rabikumar Singh of SAI RC clinched the gold in the cadet boys’ foil event, while H. Raju Meitei of SAI RC fetched the silver. The bronze went to S. Inder Singh of Meitei Ipa Ipu Salai team and W. Netaji of Ukhrul District Fencing Association.

In the cadet girls’ sabre event, K. Cherish Devi of Meitei Ipa Ipu team won the gold, while G. Krishnakumari Devi of SAI RC fetched the silver. The bronze was shared by M. Monika Devi of SAI RC and A. Monika Devi of Meitei Ipa Ipu team.

In the cadet boys’ sabre event, T. Malem Singh of Rising Sun Club did his club proud by winning the gold while M. Meghanath Singh of Meitei Ipa Ipu Salai team got himself the silver. Kh. Stalleon of SAI RC and Th. Kishan Singh of Meitei Ipa Ipu Salai team fetched the bronze medals.

In the sub-junior girls’ epee event, Kh. Romila Devi of Meitei Ipa Ipu Salai won the gold while H. Priyadarshini Devi of Meitei Thang Satjal Cultural Association fetched the silver. The bronze medal was shared by H. Linthoi Devi of Rising Sub Club and A. Devarani Devi of SAI RC.

Meitei Ipa Ipu Salai Inat Khongul Liba Lup had opened their account with a gold yesterday and got three more today to lead the medals tally with four gold, two silver and four bronze. SAI RC are close on their heels with two gold, four silver and four bronze. Rising Sub Club was placed third with one gold and one bronze.
