Bokaro, June 4: Miffed at being sidelined in the recently concluded Karnataka Assembly election, JMM chief Shibu Soren has decided to adopt new strategies which would be beneficial for JMM.
Hinting at the growing closeness between Samajwadi Party and Congress, Shibu Soren told The Telegraph that no one in politics was permanent. But he abstained from divulging at this stage the strained relations between Congress and JMM but insisted that JMM should adopt its own strategies for contesting the forthcoming elections.
When asked what forced him to convene an emergency meeting of his MLAs in Bokaro, Soren said that the political scenario of the state as well as that of the country was changing very fast and he was just coping with the changes.
Though the JMM chief said that he had summoned the MLAs to show them his farm house and plantations, he, however, did not conceal that he had asked the MLAs to get ready for the forthcoming election.
“If Mayavati is finalising her party candidates for Lok Sabha polls what was wrong in finalising the name of JMM candidates for the same? Each candidate should not only try to win his seat but play an instrumental role in helping other party members also win the election by any means possible” said Soren.
Perturbed by the cold shoulder being shown by the Congress high command and worries over repeated pleas of RJD senior leader Ramai Ram and others to mend the autocratic working style of human resources minister Bandhu Tirkey, Guruji said that though he had time and again tried to mend his ways it did not bring desired results.
After being repeatedly asked to tell the truth behind the calling of emergency meeting, the JMM chief said that people should not read too much into the emergency meeting but Guruji added that some amount of political gimmick was invariably involved which he would not reveal at this juncture due to political compulsions. When asked whether his party would tie up with BJP in the forthcoming elections, he said that presently he was the convener of UPA in Jharkhand but he could not comment on future tie ups.
