Mohammed Asif

• In 1992, Pakistani pace bowlers were accused of ball tampering during the Test series in England.

• Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Aaqib Javed and Mushtaq Ahmed were accused of possession of marijuana in Grenada, West Indies, during their tour in 1992-93.

• Pakistan captain Salim Malik had allegedly offered bribes of $200,000 each to Australians Mark Waugh and Shane Warne to under-perform in Pakistan during their October 1994 tour

• In 1996, Pakistan Under-19 cricketer Zeeshan Pervez was accused of rape in Jamaica.

• In February 2005, an unnamed Pakistan cricketer was accused of rape during the Australia tour. The PCB never revealed the identity of the player.

• During the same tour, Shoaib Akhtar was forced to return home by the PCB after acts of indiscipline that included visiting night clubs during curfew hours

• Umpire Darrell Hair and captain Inzamam-ul Haq were involved in a ball-tampering row that led to the Pakistan team’s refusal to resume play during The Oval Test in 2006.

• Shoaib and Mohammed Asif were involved in a drug scandal during the 2006 Champions Trophy in India. Both the players were sent home after failing a dope test.

• Shoaib and Asif allegedly tested positive again before the World Cup 2007

• Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer’s mysterious death in Kingston during the 2007 World Cup.

• Both Shoaib and Asif were again involved in a controversy just beforethe ICC World Twenty20. Following a dressing room scuffle, Shoaib was alleged to have hit Asif with a bat. Asif said Shoaib hit him on his leg and abused him.

• Asif detained at Dubai International Airport for allegedly carrying contraband drugs in his luggage.
