Jayanta to lead

The Indian Football Association (IFA) on Saturday announced a 20-member Bengal squad for the Santosh Trophy. Jayanta Sen was named captain.

Shukla shines

Skipper Laxmi Ratan Shukla hit 17 boundaries and seven sixes in his 89-ball 145 before retiring hurt, to help Kalighat finish Day II of the AN Ghosh Trophy final at 300 for five against Sporting Union at the Eden on Saturday. His partner Anushtup Majumdar was unbeaten on 89.
