Dinda, Saha make the cut

Calcutta: Bengal wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha and pacer Ashok Dinda have been named in the Israel bound squad which will play three limited-overs matches against the Israel national team, from July 10 to 16. Both the players made the side on the basis of their impressive performance in the Indian Premier League.

The Telegraph had reported on Saturday that both Saha and Dinda were well placed for selection to the side.

“It’s nice to be included… I hope to justify the selectors’ faith in me,” said an overwhelmed Dinda.

Saha was also happy. “It feels good… But it also means more responsibility,” he said.

Bengal bastman Manoj Tiwary was included in the other squad scheduled to participate in the Emerging Players’ tournament in Australia from July 14.

According to a Board of Control for Cricket in India release, Saurashtra Ranji Trophy skipper Jaydev Shah and Gujarat Ranji Trophy captain Parthiv Patel were named to lead the two teams to Australia and Israel, respectively, by the national selection committee on Saturday.
