Ranchi, May 31: Chief minister Madhu Koda’s joy knew no bounds when he was blessed with a daughter last night.

Doctors at the private nursing home, where Koda’s wife is admitted, said that the condition of both the mother and the baby was stable and they would be released from the hospital soon.

Though Koda was “forced” to return home last night, he rushed to the nursing home around 11.30am. He spent the day with his family, accepting the greetings of his well-wishers who came from far-flung places.

Union minister of state for tribal affairs Rameshwar Oraon was the first to congratulate him. “Oraon’s son was standing close when the doctor gave me the good news. He immediately informed his father, who in turn, wished me,” blushed Koda.

The news soon spread like wildfire. Koda’s well-wishers started flocking at the hospital. Those, who learnt about it in the newspapers this morning, went to Koda’s residence. Many others tried in vain to reach him over telephone.

“When I am with my wife, my mouth as well the cell phone remain shut. This is another secret of my success, which I think others should emulate,” said Koda in a lighter vein.

The proud father promised to throw a grand party shortly.
