Tata AIG victorious

Tata AIG thrashed Standard Chartered 6-2 in a McDowell’s No.1 Celebration The Telegraph Cup Football for Corporates (Bowl Plate) match at the CC&FC on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Bighnesh Finance Co. defeated Selvel A 1-0 in a Main Plate match of the tournament, not as reported in Thursday’s edition.

OTHER RESULTS: (Thursday)

Main Plate: Bighnesh Finance Co. bt South Asia Petrochem 3-1; BNKE Solutions bt Cognizant Tech 3-0

Losers Plate: ITC A bt Bharati Airtel 3-2

Cricket

Kalighat will take on Sporting Union in the final of the A.N. Ghosh Trophy cricket tournament at Eden Gardens on Friday. Kalighat will have former Bangaldesh cricketer Mohammed Rafique in their ranks.

Kho Kho

Apart from Bengal, 11 more states will participate in the 15th East Zone National Kho Kho Championship to be held in Kamarhati Municipal Area, Deshapriya Nagar, from Friday. The final will be played on Sunday.

Table tennis

Several students (age group six-14) from city schools will participate in a month-long table tennis summer camp organised by the Ballygunge Brati Sangha along with DKS District Table Tennis Association to be held from this week at the Brati Sangha.

Youth chess

Deep Sengupta, GM Abhijit Gupta, WGM Mary Ann Gomes and Anurag Jaiswal jointly share the lead with five points each after Round VI of the Tea Board of India Chess for youth at the Netaji Indoor Stadium on Thursday.
