Mumbai: Chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar Friday said that the Indian squad for the tri-series in Bangladesh and the subsequent Asia Cup in Pakistan would be picked on the basis of form and fitness.
“The team will be chosen on May 30 on the basis of players’ form and fitness. The best team will be picked,” the former captain said, after the prize distribution of the ELF Vengsarkar under-16 tournament here.
“The IPL is a very good concept. Young players with potential have come along. But one-day International is a different ball game,” he added.
Vengsarkar later held a meeting with Dav Whatmore.
