One-sided ties fail to excite

Jamshedpur, May 22: Thakkar Bappa Club (TBC) put up a superb performance, defeating Ma Bhagwati Football Club (MBFC) in a one-sided super division tie of the ongoing McDowell’s Celebration-Jamshedpur Sporting Association football league at Gopal Maidan today.

Dobo Sangram Sangh (DSS) scored a 3-1 win over Young Hira Nagpur Athletic Club (YHNAC) in the A-division clash at Armoury grounds. The TBC outfit controlled the proceedings from the beginning, scoring one goal after another against their hapless opponents. Madhusudan’s brace in the 42nd and 56th minutes was the silver lining in the team’s victory.

TBC surged ahead in the very third minute when Shankar Tudu sent in a swinging shot well past a diving MBFC custodian. Though the winning team did not score any further goals but did miss some scoring opportunities.

Though YHNAC tried hard to win the game against DSS but the latter came out as a tough rival. Tapas Mukhi’s two goals helped the cause of the winning team even as Sanjay Mahto managed the third and final goal to finish the game.
