Rights plea against Dalai

Shimla, May 17: A Delhi-based charitable trust has filed a human rights violation petition in Delhi High Court against the Dalai Lama and Samdong Rinpoche, the Prime Minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile.

“The Dalai Lama is blackmailing Dorje Shugden worshippers into giving up their religious beliefs. At the same time, Indian citizens who worship Dorje Shugden are reviled and condemned as non-Buddhists and Chinese agents,” said the petition filed by the Dorje Shugden Devotee’s Charitable & Religious Society.

The court will hear the petition on September 12.

Most of the followers of Shugden — a Tibetan village god — live in New Delhi.
