If you haven’t bought your stock yet, rush. Bangles are a girl’s best friends this season — the chunkier, the better. After you’re done with your shopping spree (check Nik Nish, New Market, Mam’s Diva and just about any shop, big or small), learn how to wear them well. You need to pile them on together. Try the high street’s summer look of wooden bangles interspersed with slinky gold choodis or create your own quirky style. Go for metallics, candy stripes juxtaposed with floral prints or solid colour blocks with geometric graphics.
Breezy Kaftan
Kaftans are just too comfortable. Does that explain the re-entry of kaftans in 2008, barely three years after its mainstream exit? The flowy fashionable number transforms from a relaxed day to sexy evening look in just a minute. Wear it with thongs (on your feet) and beads (around the neck or wrist) for the day or pump it up with a pair of pumps and precious stones at night. Choose between kaftan as a dress or kaftan as a top teamed with tights. Go for cotton for comfort or georgette for glam. Do whatever, but buy it now. And wear it fast. Shorts / short skirts
Conservative Calcutta is finally stepping out in minis. Maybe it’s a comfort call, maybe it’s the cool quotient — fashion fact is that Calcutta is going short, shorter and shortest. Get your pair from Benetton, Levis or Cotton World. Wear your shorts with a relaxed button down shirt or a sequinned shrug — because shorts do not necessarily mean sneakers and graffiti tees! If you want to try hot and short skirts, go glam with shimmer and shine. And move from the club lawn to the nightclub!
