Mango magic at club

Ranchi, April 30: Mangoes are here and women in the city are getting creative.

Twelve homemakers displayed their culinary skills at the mango juice-making competition at Lions Club hall. The event was organised by the Lioness Club of Ranchi.

One of the participants, Indu Tiwary prepared am panna using salt, black pepper, saunf, pudina, brahmi and raw mangoes. Raw mangoes were first boiled in water and then mashed. “This is sieved and then served chilled garnished with pudina leaves,” Tiwary said.

While another participant and winner of the third prize today, P. Ghosh, made a juice using both raw and ripe mangoes. She roasted the mangoes first and then after mashing them, added black salt, sugar and water. “This is kept in the refrigerator to cool,” Ghosh explained.
