Tough tie for Dravid’s men

Bangalore: Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid’s boys will have to play out of their skins to cease the winning run of the Mahendra Singh Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings when they face them at home ground here on Monday.

The Chennai outfit, which on Saturday outsmarted Kolkata Knight Riders, is the only team in the tournament to have emerged winners on all three occasion they have taken the field.

With Matthew Hayden and skipper Dhoni in superb nick, Bangalore Royal Challengers’ bowlers — Zaheer Khan, Anil Kumble, Praveen Kumar — would have to be as accurate as possible to restrict them from scoring at will.

However, much depend how his strong batting line-up with West Indies Shivnaraine Chanderpaul, Mark Boucher, Jacques Kallis and Pakistan middle-order batsman Misbah-ul-Haq, who will replace New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor. Taylor is scheduled to leave for national duty.

The Chennai team is likely be without Mike Hussey as he too will be leaving to participate in the pre-Caribbean tour camp.

The visitors look as strong with willow as with the bowl with everyone contributing in the team’s cause.
