Before diving into the pool, start a pamper package. Smooth swimsuit skin doesnt come easy. Get used to a daily routine of massages, scrubbing and body wraps at home or at a spa.
Try grandmas tip: Make a paste of breadcrumbs, honey and sandalwood powder and apply all over. It will make your skin silky.
Groundnut oil also helps to acquire shiny smooth skin.
If your skin is still patchy and pigmented, make-up is the only option. Unlike face make-up that is easy to retain, body painting can be messy and tricky. Make-up expert Aniruddha Chakladar tells you how to make-up your bikini body:
1. Make sure the make-up is transfer-proof or waterproof. Brands like Revlon and Krylon have a range.
2. Check to see if your skin is make-up friendly. Otherwise the products wont sit on you.
3. The answer to skin roughness is not make-up. Cosmetics only end up making the skin look patchy. For problem-skin, moisturise well and sprinkle some shimmer.
4. For birthmarks or scars, use a heavy concealer that gives more coverage. Make sure the shade is closest to your skin tone to even the look.
5. Freckles are spread all over the body. Since you cant cover each freckle individually, use a darker shade of foundation and apply all over.
6. For pimples, use a light texture foundation to blend them in.
7. For stretch marks, be extra careful. The area tends to be slightly raised as well as lighter on the inside. Use a darker concealer or foundation to make it uniform.
8. If full body make-up is too much for you, simply use a liquid or powder bronzer. Blend the liquid with your finger and powder with a brush.
9. Highlight your collarbones, back and cleavage with shimmer. Try some on the centre of your arm to give it a slim effect.
