Eye catcher

Run away: What a big flop can do to an actor! Tulip Joshi, who was a Yash Raj discovery in Sanjay Dhoom Gadhvi’s Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, had tried to avoid item-number mode. When her debut film sank without a trace, the actress salvaged some pride with Manish Jha’s award-winning Matrubhoomi, playing the much-battered woman in an all-men’s society. Then she went into complete hibernation for three years and resurfaced with Pooja Bhatt’s angst-ridden Hindu-Muslim terrorism take in Dhokha. That tanked too. Tulip was banking on Rohit Jugraj’s Super Star to revive her failing career. But no such luck with the Kunal Khemmu-starrer flopping despite good reviews. And now, finally, poor Tulip is doing an item number in some obscure film called Runaway! If her costumes and the rest of the cast — not a single known name — are anything to go by, Tulip will need a mini miracle to bloom again. Till then, run away...
